Suggestion | It would be nice to be able to choose a location/folder where the applications will be installed into |
---|---|
Answer | According to the manual : If you are not allowed to write in /Applications, packages will be installed in a folder named Applications in your home directory. But indeed in a next release we could ask the destination folder as an option in the ‘Preferences’ panel. |
Suggestion | Ask the admin code, after the package selection. And use a bigger police / text to explain what you need the code (because it’s not the standart os X windows to enter admin code) |
---|---|
Answer | The admin code will be asked in a more convenient way ( see our TODO list ) with a native box in a next release. We could also display a small message explaining why we need it, but the password will still be asked before the package selection. (We need it for knowing which packages are uninstallable) |
Suggestion | Then you should provide this information to the user from within the program. As of now, a novice will find it illogical and unnecessary to provide the admin password. (Imagine you have just downloaded MacLibre like me and are asked for this password in the first place, without a real explanation!) |
